Caroline Dinenage, Member of Parliament for Gosport, is asking for nominations in the fifth instalment of the Parliamentary and Taxi & Private Hire Awards.

The Awards are an opportunity to annually celebrate the wonderful things that taxi and PHV drivers do in their communities. Drivers are recognised for going “above and beyond”, whether that be because of, among other things, the charitable work or fundraising they have done, the support they have given to customers with disabilities, speaking up for the trade, or promoting sustainability.

Last year saw Andrew Orr, owner of Taxi Lee-on-the-Solent, take home the award for the second time running in a reception at the Houses of Parliament. He was recognised for his flexibility, friendly service, and value-for-money.

The 2024 Awards will take place at a reception on Tuesday 2nd July, 2-4pm in the Terrace Pavilion. The deadline for submissions is the 23 May.

Caroline will be accepting completed nomination forms to her email address caroline.dinenage.mp@parliament.uk.

Caroline said: “This is a great opportunity to recognise the service that our local taxi drivers provide and the dedication they show to their customers. These taxi awards are your chance to nominate a driver who you feel has really gone the ‘extra mile’ to offer value or service.
