The RSPCA Solent Branch hosted a Charity Gala Dinner on Thursday 5th October to raise vital funds for their animal welfare centre: the Stubbington Ark.

In attendance were their patrons, ITV Meridian presenter, Amanda Piper, and TV’s The Apprentice Winner, Ricky Martin, alongside the Deputy Mayor of Winchester, and the Deputy Mayoress of Fareham.

The Gala Dinner took place at the Marwell Hotel in Winchester, where guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and entertainment from the Kings of Swing: Paul Hudson.

The RSPCA Solent Branch works with the Inspectorate and members of the public to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and release hundreds of animals every year from their animal centre The Stubbington Ark, based in Fareham. Most of these animals have either been injured, abandoned, rejected or cruelly mistreated.

As a separately registered Branch of the RSPCA, this means they are responsible for raising their own funds to deliver vital animal welfare services to a wide range of different species including dogs, cats, rabbits, small furries, birds, stock animals and wildlife.

“This evening was not only a chance to bring the local community together to support the charity, but it was also the first time such a night has been hosted by The Ark which made it even more special.” Ricky Martin, Patron, comments.

“It was a great evening beautifully managed, magnificently executed and was really great to see so many people club together and dig deep in support. I was delighted to be there, and cannot wait for the next ones. If I had one final comment – for anyone who reads this, come join us next time.”

The RSPCA Solent Branch would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of those who attended their first Gala Dinner, and for those that were unable to attend this time, you can still make a donation by visiting:
