LA-based quartet Sunder are proud to reveal their debut single, ‘The Day I Died’, set for release on 15th May 2024.
Produced by Manuel Joseph Walker (Foliage), and recorded by Jay Stolo (Lit, Screeching Weasels, The Raptors, True Rivals) at Straitjacket Studio in Fullerton, Orange County CA, ‘The Day I Died’ is a slick introduction to the band’s considered, highly polished sound, taking influence from The Cure, The 1975, Beach Fossils, and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

Commenting on the track, vocalist/guitarist Steven Esquibel  says: “We wanted ‘The Day I Died’ to envelop the listener in beautiful atmospheric sound, while the melancholic vocal melodies inspire a longing for more. Infused with the sound of ‘80s dream pop, our hope for the band is to capture that nostalgic sound and push its boundaries into the modern era.”

Accompanied by a similarly well-produced official music video directed by Jarrod Anthonee in Los Angeles, California the visual element of their art is equally important to the band, who roped in renowned US music photographer Travis Shinn to assist with press shots, completed by the precise graphic design of Long Island visual artist Amani Williams-Harris.

Commenting on the visuals the band said: “We created an almost ethereal plane as the backdrop for the music video, which perfectly captures the feelings of isolation and longing the track gives the listener, as well as matches the overall aesthetic we’ve meticulously been trying to craft.”
